Celebrating CFMs Marking a Quarter-Century of Service
Twenty-five years ago, these 45 Certified Floodplain Managers sat for their CFM exam—and they’ve maintained their certification ever since. Their long-term commitment reflects exactly what the CFM program was created to uphold: a strong baseline of professional competence, supported by ongoing training and continuing education as the field evolves.
Established in 1998, the CFM program helps ensure communities have access to highly qualified experts who understand today’s flood risks and the strategies needed to reduce them. Thanks to a long-standing partnership with six accredited states—Arkansas, Illinois, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Texas—CFMs across the country share consistent standards and a commitment to professional development.
