2024 ASFPM Conference

June 23-27, 2024 | Salt Lake City, Utah
2024 ASFPM Annual Conference Showcases the Power of Partnerships and Resilience
With a total attendance of 1,958 the ASFPM Conference continues to expand its reach
The 2024 ASFPM Annual Conference, held in Salt Lake City, was a resounding success. With a record-breaking in-person attendance of 1,705 participants and an additional 253 tuning in virtually, the hybrid conference not only highlighted the critical importance of flood risk mitigation but also fostered invaluable connections among professionals dedicated to safeguarding communities against flooding.
For the first time in a number of years, we were pleased to have every state represented with host Utah leading the way with the most number of attendees, followed by Virginia, Texas, Florida, and Colorado respectively. Washington, DC, California, North Carolina, Louisiana, and Georgia rounded out the top 10. We were also delighted to welcome nine professionals from Puerto Rico, a reflection of the continued work between the association and the island territory as part of the Flood and Resilience Dialogue Expedition (FReDx) initiative.
Even the 100+ degree temperatures of Salt Lake City couldn’t temper the excitement as professionals from across the nation and around the globe gathered to share knowledge, discuss challenges, and explore real-world solutions in floodplain management. The robust turnout underscored the growing recognition of the importance of effective flood risk management in the face of increasingly unpredictable weather patterns and rising sea levels. The hybrid format of the conference allowed for a broader reach, enabling more participants to engage with the diverse array of sessions and workshops.
From Monday evening’s grand opening to the final rounds on Wednesday, the exhibit hall featured an impressive lineup of exhibitors showcasing the latest products, technologies, and services. More than 80 exhibitors kept the exhibit hall hopping with activity and we’d like to give special thanks to all of our sponsors, particularly titanium sponsors: FEMA, AECOM, Michael Baker International, and WSP.
