CFM Program Continues to Evolve with New Enhancements
As you have probably heard by now, the CFM Program has been working on a few major initiatives that will provide significant improvements for the security and efficiency of the program. First, the CFM exam has undergone a complete digital transformation over the last year. Exam candidates can now take the exam from their home or office, or at a Meazure (formerly Scantron) testing center. Candidates can also take the digital exam in a more familiar setting such as a chapter conference or a FEMA 273 training delivery as a BYOD (bring your own device) setup. With the successful launch of the digital exam across a wide range of delivery options, the paper format of the exam is set to be retired at the end of 2022. By having all future exam results in an electronic format, exam security and performance monitoring will be much more efficient.
Another significant improvement includes the migration of our membership and certification database to a modern cloud-based platform called MemberSuite. This new system will allow all exam candidates (including those candidates from accredited ASFPM chapters) to apply online to take the exam. As part of the application process, we will collect information about each candidate’s work experience, education background, and exam preparation. This candidate demographic information will help us understand how to improve our study resources and further messaging around exam preparation. The new platform will also provide a better way for users to self-report Continuing Education Credits (CECs) as well as enhanced integration with our Path Learning Management System to automatically track credits earned through our online learning system.
