New Campaign Shines Spotlight on CFMs in the Field

We’re kicking off a fun new campaign to show the pride and purpose behind being a Certified Floodplain Manager! Now that we have official CFM gear — shirts, hats, and more — we want to see where in the world you’re donning your credentials.

Here’s a great example from Louie Greenwell, ASFPM’s Certification, Training & Technology Director. Louie recently visited Napa Valley and snapped this shot from a bridge overlooking a major flood restoration along Napa Creek. The project, completed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Napa Flood Control District, is a great backdrop that shows how CFMs are connected to smart flood mitigation solutions across the country.

So, here’s your assignment. If there’s a cool flood mitigation project in your community or one you come across in your travels, throw on your CFM gear, snap a photo, and send it our way! A scenic waterway or natural floodplain? A project you helped support or maybe just a great example of the work CFMs do? We want to see those too!

You can email your photo and a brief description to Mary Bart or tag us on LinkedIn using #CFMcorner. We’ll feature submissions in News & Views and across ASFPM social media platforms!

Need some CFM merch? Simply log into the ASFPM portal. If you’re a CFM, you’ll find all available CFM clothing under the Shop tab. (If you’re not a CFM, you won’t have access to the CFM clothing page)

Let’s show the world the faces (and places!) of floodplain management!
