ASFPM Foundation’s 2023 Future Leaders Scholarship Application Period Opens

Applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2023 to Spring 2025 Future Leaders Scholarship (FLS). Please help the ASFPM Foundation raise awareness of this important opportunity by passing the word along to your network of friends and colleagues at colleges, universities, research centers and, of course, students who may be eligible.

Here are some specific details for you to share:

  • The ASFPM Foundation’s Future Leaders Scholarship is up to $20,000 per year for two years.
  • It’s available to a student entering their junior year in the fall of 2023 and studying in a field related to flood risk management.
  • The funds will pay the recipient’s college or university directly for any undergraduate tuition costs, and funds remaining after tuition payment may be used for other educational expenses.
  • The deadline for applications is February 1, 2023.

How it started. How it’s going.
In 2018, ASFPM Foundation established the FLS to provide direct, financial assistance, mentoring, and support to a deserving college student interested in pursuing a career in a field related to floodplain and flood risk management. At the 2022 ASFPM Annual National Conference in Orlando, FL, the Foundation Executive Board took steps to further our commitment to building a brighter future by announcing the funding of a second FLS beginning in 2023. This means the Foundation is now offering the FLS every year instead of every two years!
