ASFPM Foundation Gears Up for the 2023 ASFPM Annual Conference in Raleigh, NC!

Now that we are back on track with in-person conferences, we can’t wait to see our floodplain management friends and colleagues in Raleigh next month. There is no shortage of things we have planned to celebrate the great work by the ASFPM Foundation, and importantly, to thank our donors for their generosity throughout the year.

Here is a snapshot of ways you can learn more about the foundation and engage in the activities we have planned to make this year’s conference experience even more rewarding than last!

  • Visit the Foundation Booth (#201) to speak with foundation executive board members, trustees, and associates to learn about our accomplishments and ways you can support the foundation in the months and years to come.
  • Purchase your 50/50 Tickets to help us fund important initiatives, like the Future Leaders Scholarship. This year, we have the green light to host a 50/50 fundraising event; the winner of which will be announced at the conference and you don’t have to be present to win. Foundation 50/50 Champions will be on hand throughout the conference for you to purchase tickets; you can also purchase tickets at the Foundation Booth.  The more tickets you buy, the bigger the pool!
  • Attend the ASFPM Foundation Luncheon on Tuesday, May 9, when the winner of this year’s Future Leaders Scholarship will be announced. This year the luncheon is included with full registration.
  • Attend the Student Paper Competition on Tuesday, May 9 between 3:45 and 5:15 pm in Room 204 when the three student semi-finalists will present their papers on important flood risk management topics.
  • Attend the ASFPM Foundation Donor Recognition and Live Auction on Wednesday, May 10. If it’s anything like last year, the evening will be filled with great food and drink, opportunities for networking, and most importantly, a chance to celebrate the successes of the foundation overall and the contributions of our important donors. Mr. Mike Graham with Floodproofing.com will again be our auctioneer extraordinaire for the Live Auction portion of the event, which will not disappoint! The reception is invitation only by making a $125 donation.

Keep an eye out for foundation representatives at the conference wearing an “Ask Me” button who will be able to provide you with more information about ASFPM Foundation activities and events at ASFPM 2023.

We look forward to seeing you in Raleigh, May 7-11!
