ASFPM Foundation 14th Annual Student Paper Competition Application Now Open
Graduate and undergraduate students currently enrolled in a college or university are encouraged to submit abstracts on subjects relating to flood risk, floodplain, or stormwater management no later than March 24, 2024. Entries for the ASFPM Foundation’s 14th Annual Student Paper Competition can be submitted individually or as a team. Importantly, this isn’t limited only to students pursuing an engineering career. Successful applicants have come from planning, geography, and communications programs to name a few.
Abstracts will be judged by a panel of floodplain management professionals and three finalists will be invited to submit their papers for review in April 2024. The three finalists also will receive free registration to the ASFPM Annual National Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah and will be provided a travel stipend to present their papers at the conference on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
First Place: $1,600 scholarship
Second Place: $1,200 scholarship
Third Place: $700 scholarship
