Cancel the remaining NFIP debt, increase funding for flood mapping, boost the state set-asides available under BRIC, establish a base level of state and territorial capacity to provide technical assistance to communities, and launch a means-tested flood insurance affordability assistance program.
These are some of the key recommendations ASFPM detailed in a letter to the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security regarding FEMA funding for fiscal year 2023.
