ASFPM Urges Congress to Restore FEMA’s Flood Mapping Budget

ASFPM sent letters to Congress today
urging them to restore FEMA’s Flood Mapping Budget. If timely and
accurate flood mapping is not done, it is impossible to determine the
flood risk so that property owners can protect their investment and
safety. The FEMA Flood Mapping Program has led, and continues to lead,
our national effort in developing basic flood risk data that can be used
by all to take actions and reduce flood damages.

NEXT STEPS:

If you are able, please take a moment to contact your Congressional delegates and urge them to restore FEMA’s Flood Mapping Budget as soon as possible.

The best way to communicate with Congressional offices is to submit
letters electronically or by fax, since regular mail still goes through a
lengthy security process. Please click on the following link to quickly
locate your congressional delegates in the Senate and the House.
