Powerful new platform delivers greater engagement and ease of use

The all-new ASFPM portal is now live! If you haven’t already done so, please take a few minutes to create your account on the new platform. You’ll find step-by-step instructions toward the end of the article.

But first, let us tell you a little bit about the new ASFPM portal, and how it provides ASFPM members and CFMs with a much-improved user experience. With intuitive self-service functionality, the system allows individuals to quickly and easily manage their membership, track CECs for CFM renewal, register for the ASFPM conference and other training events, and participate in committee-specific online discussion boards.

The launch of the new ASFPM portal culminates a nearly year-long endeavor of evaluating Association Management Software (AMS) vendors, selecting a provider, and beginning the long process of rethinking how we can improve the member experience, migrating data, and performing lots and lots of testing to make the process as seamless as possible for our members and CFMs.

“As the association grows and evolves, it became clear that we needed a more robust platform to manage membership data while providing our members with the tools they need to fully maximize member benefits,” said Louie Greenwell, ASFPM’s Certification, Training and Technology Director. “After evaluating numerous vendors, we selected MemberSuite. Not only do they specialize in association management software, but they provide us with the flexibility we need to better manage the complexities of ASFPM’s membership structure, including the Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) program, committees, board leadership, chapters, and in-person and online training and events.”

Here are a few of the benefits you will experience on the new ASFPM portal:

  • Complete transaction history. No need to contact ASFPM for receipts or invoices. All billing activities will be accessible at the click of a button.
  • Real-time visibility into CFM credentials. Maintain your CFM by always knowing how many CECs you have earned. Automatic notifications will let you know if you are missing CECs/other requirements prior to renewal.
  • Customizable email preference center lets you decide which types of emails you want to receive. Opt in or opt out at any time as your needs and interests change.
  • Purchase CFM merchandise and training courses directly from the online store.
  • Mobile-friendly interface means you’ll have a good experience on the portal regardless of device — desktop, phone, and tablet.
  • Collaborate with your peers. Each committee will soon have its own discussion board, which allows you to participate in conversations, ask questions, and share resources with like-minded professionals. (This feature is coming later this quarter!)
  • And much more.

Anyone who’s gone through a major technology integration knows that it’s not for the faint of heart, but we are excited about the new ASFPM portal and what it will mean for our members and CFMs. Not only will it make things much more efficient for us here in Madison, but it will empower you to engage with the association and the community in a whole new way.

Ready to get started? Current members and CFMs should follow the instructions below.  If you’ve already created your new account, be sure to bookmark the new portal.
