FY 2026 FMA Notice of Funding Announced
The Notice of Funding Opportunity for the FY 2026 Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) program opened Oct 22 with up to $400 million available to states, local communities, Tribal Nations, and territories to reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage to buildings insured under the National Flood Insurance Program.
That breaks down to $260 million for localized flood risk reduction projects, $120 million for individual flood mitigation projects, and $20 million for capability and capacity building activities.
The application deadline is Feb. 26, 2027. Communities should contact their state to find out the internal sub-application deadline, which will be earlier.
