ASFPM Comments on National Risk Index, Community Disaster Resilience Zones

The Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) submitted comments in response to FEMA’s Request for Information (RFI) concerning the National Risk Index (NRI) and the new Community Disaster Resilience Zones (CDRZ) program.

ASFPM has significant concerns regarding the current and proposed uses of the NRI as it relates to hazard mitigation grant and planning programs. Further, we believe that the CDRZ program as proposed in legislation is deeply flawed and will be extremely difficult to enact in a fair and equitable manner. Read ASFPM’s comments here

ASFPM joined 94 other organizations and individuals to submit comments in response to the RFI. You can access all the comments here
