ASFPM 2011 Annual National Conference Call for Presentations and Workshops

The Association of State Floodplain Managers will convene the world’s largest and most comprehensive floodplain management conference – our 35th annual gathering – the week of May 15 – 20, 2011, in Louisville, Kentucky. We invite you to share your experiences with local, state, and federal officials, industry leaders, consultants, and other interested parties by presenting a paper relevant to our theme, “Flood Risk Management: The Winning Ticket”.

Call For Presenters

This Call for Presenters seeks a broad range of professionals to address the many issues and problems associated with reducing flood damages, making communities more sustainable, and managing floodplain and fragile natural resources. ASFPM is seeking both Concurrent Session and Workshop submissions for our 2011 National Conference. Situated along the banks of the Ohio River, Louisville has experienced flooding disasters ranging from the devastating floods in 1937, to torrential flash flooding in 2009. Their unique problems and solutions will be showcased for us through the cooperation of local citizens, interest groups, and professionals in the private sector as well as all levels of government.

Please visit our 2011 Annual National Conference page for the Call for Presenters brochure, submittal previews and form. The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2010!
