ASFPM Weighs in on WOTUS Definition

Wetlands

ASFPM filed comments yesterday on a proposed rule defining the scope of waters protected under the Clean Water Act. The comments were delivered in response to a Dec. 7 notice in the Federal Register from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

In its letter, ASFPM commended the EPA and USACE for taking the critical step of restoring science-based protections to the nation’s waters and wetlands and emphasized the important role the Clean Water Act plays in reducing the human toll as well as economic and taxpayer costs for flood disasters.
