The Post-Disaster Recovery Committee was created in 2025 to provide leadership, guidance, and resources to ASFPM members and communities in the aftermath of flood and disaster events. The committee leverages lessons learned from recent disasters, aligns with ASFPM’s national strategic plan, and incorporates best practices and research to improve preparedness, response, recovery, and long-term resilience.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Post-Disaster Recovery Committee is to empower ASFPM members and communities to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from flood and disaster events. The committee advances national resilience by promoting best practices, innovative tools, equitable recovery, and strong policy advocacy—ensuring that lessons learned from disasters lead to safer, stronger, and more resilient communities for all.
