NFIP Claims Manual for May 2020 Released
The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Claims Manual (May 2020) is now available online.
The purpose of the NFIP Claims Manual is to improve clarity of claims guidance to WYOs, vendors, adjusters, and examiners so that policyholders experience consistent and reliable service. The manual provides processes for handling claims from the notice of loss to final payment.
Some of the changes in the manual include:
- Clarifying the terms in a Group Flood Insurance Policy (GFIP)
- New language that outline rules, principles, values, and expectations pertaining to Independent Adjuster Registration and Code of Conduct when handling NFIP claims.
- Revision of commentary on a number of topics in an effort to be clearer and concise
