ASFPM Executive Director Chad Berginnis testified virtually before the House Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment on “The Water Resources Development Act of 2020: Status of Essential Provisions.”
During the March 23rd testimony, he explained why ASFPM is encouraged by the direction set by WRDA 2020 and outlined our recommendations for implementation.
Much of his testimony focused on where the nation goes from here, post-WRDA 2020, and delved into specific areas where a particular focus on either implementation or transformation needs to occur to ensure that both WRDA 2020 and the USACE generally are positioned to successfully assist states and communities address the nation’s flood damage and cost problems:
- Strategic Direction post-WRDA 2020
- Flood Risk Management
- Levee and Dam Risk Management
- Implementing Principles, Requirements, and Guidelines
