ASFPM Comments on Draft Interagency Concept for Community Resilience Indicators
and National-Level Measures Aug. 15, 2016

ASFPM is pleased to submit comments on the Draft Interagency Concept for Community Resilience Indicators
and National-Level Measures. ASFPM is a professional nonprofit: ASFPM and its 36 chapters represent more
than 17,000 state and local officials, as well as other professionals engaged in all aspects of floodplain
management and flood hazard mitigation. All ASFPM members are concerned with reducing our nation’s flood-related
losses.

ASFPM applauds the Federal Emergency Management Agency, National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration and Mitigation Framework Leadership Group for producing a draft document
that explores defining and quantifying community resilience. We hope that the ASFPM comments will be useful to advance wise floodplain management and improve community resilience to all hazards
throughout the nation.
