Community-Based Flood Hazard Mitigation Training Video Now Available! – Distribution has begun on Flood Mitigation Planning – The First Steps, a project the Association has been working on for nearly a year under a grant with the Public Entity Risk Institute. The video and accompanying materials are designed to help focus a community on specific tasks to avoid future flood problems, from initial approach and organization through implementation. The video has two parts, each about 15 minutes long – the first is for a general audience, i.e. on cable TV or at a public meeting, the second is for the planning committee/decision-makers and discusses how to start the mitigation planning process. The materials provide instruction on use, as well as originals for reproduction. The cost is $12 per package, which includes one video plus masters for the accompanying handouts.
