The National Center for Infrastructure Modeling Management (NCIMM) through the Urban Watersheds Research Institute (UWRI) is offering a 2-day (14 hour) class on water distribution systems modeling the latest version of EPANET software.

This class has the following 10 modules
  • Theory & history of modeling.
  • Constructing a basic model.
  • Using GIS/CAD to build a model.
  • Pumps, tanks, valves and sources.
  • Calibration tests and procedures.
  • Extended period simulation using controls.
  • SCADA and field data for use in calibration.
  • Water quality analysis.
  • Operational applications: Energy, valve operation, fire flow.
  • Discussion of commercial software products and advanced techniques for real-time and optimization modeling.
All modules will start with a lecture/demonstration and most modules will have hands-on exercise(s).

Target Audience: This class is for engineers, operators and administrators interested in learning the basics of EPANET and for current users of this software that want to improve their skills.

What to Bring: You will need to bring your own, with the EPANET software installed before you come to class! The software may be downloaded for free from:

A certificate of completion will be issued. Depending on the State you practice, you may be eligible for 1.4 CEU's, 14 PDH's and/or Colorado Certified Operator 1.4 TU's.
