DETAILS This is the field deployed version of the EMI E273 course. This course is designed to provide an organized training opportunity for local officials responsible for administering their local floodplain management ordinance. The course will focus on the NFIP and concepts of floodplain management, maps and studies, ordinance administration, and the relationship between floodplain management and flood insurance.
Instructors: Prasad Inmula and Jason Hunter, FEMA RIV
Selection Criteria: Local officials responsible for administering local floodplain management ordinances, including but not limited to floodplain management administrators, building inspectors, code enforcement/zoning officers, planners, city/county managers, attorneys, engineers, and public works officials. Federal/State/regional floodplain managers also are encouraged to attend. The course is designed for those officials with less than 3 years of floodplain management experience.

Please be advised that this class is not intended to provided all the
information needed to pass the CFM exam. For additional study material
for the CFM exam please review the items on the CFM Exam Preparation Guide.
CFM Exam (Optional) Taking the CFM Exam is optional. The CFM Exam is scheduled on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 9:00AM-12:00PM following the course. NOTE: the L-273 Course is for enhancement and/or refresher only and not intended to teach the exam. Max Attendees for CFM Exam: 25. CFM exam application and fees must be submitted to ASFPM no later six weeks prior to the exam. Click here for CFM Exam application paperwork.

REGISTRATION Seating is limited to the first forty (40) people. Please reserve a seat by sending in the registration form as soon as possible, even if you feel that payment will be delayed. There is no need to request approval from the State; FFMA will seek the approval from the State for you. Send in the application by July 9th, 2012. No money will be refunded if cancellations are made after this date.
