Apply the lessons learned from various case histories to understanding the most important elements of designs and operations that can reduce the likelihood of dam failures
Become familiar with the terminology and steps involved in probable failure modes analyses and risk evaluations.
Understand the parameters involved in breach analyses and prediction.
Recognize and define the primary defensive design measures used most often to increase the resistance of dams to various failure modes.
Be familiar with actions and tools needed to provide proactive reaction to emergency events to avert failures.
Course Materials: Attendees will receive presentation and reference materials that will aid in both implementing lessons learned in the seminar, and adapting review procedures and checklists to their specific organization.
