A two-week experience requiring about 8 hours of work, this online “anytime” format gives you the flexibility to fit the course into your schedule.
DETAILS
Participants including water managers, watershed professionals, and local and state government officials will gain the knowledge and skills needed to apply sustainability principles to water resources and climate change planning in their community. The course consists of three instructional modules: Understanding Sustainability, Sustainable Approaches to Water Infrastructure and Climate Change Planning, and Engaging Stakeholders in Planning for Sustainability.
Course objectives:

Achieve an understanding of key concepts in sustainability.

Achieve an understanding of systems thinking with a focus on climate change and sustainable water systems/resources (built and natural).

Develop an understanding of linking sustainability to water resources management and climate change adaptation planning.

Gain skills needed to apply sustainability principles to water resources and climate change planning in your community.

This program is a multi-state, multi-organization initiative with funding provided by NIFA’s Great Lakes Regional Water Program. Organizations and Universities involved with the program include The Ohio State University, Michigan State University, University of Wisconsin, River Network, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
