The Premier Flood Conference - 2010 in Oklahoma City
ASFPM would like to thank each and every one of you who participated in this year's Conference. You're the reason we do this and we couldn't do it without you. We'd like to send a special thank you to the Oklahoma Floodplain Managers Association and all of the other volunteers who helped plan, organize, and conduct the conference. Last, but certainly not least, thank you to all of the Conference Sponsors for continuing to step up to the plate to ensure the ASFPM National Conference remains the world's Premier Flood Conference.
As far as registration numbers are concerned, we kept our heads above water. Even in these turbulent economic times and with many state travel bans, we still had over 1,100 participants. Here's how the numbers broke down:
- General Registrations: 995
- Exhibit Booth Registrations: 70
- Exhibit Booth Representative Registrations: 33
- One-Day Registrations: 14
- Workshop-Only Registrations: 14
When ASFPM Staff and participants' guests are factored in, the total count was just about 1,150. We had representatives from all 50 states and Puerto Rico, as well as Bermuda, Canada, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United Kingdom. Oklahoma showed everyone up with an amazing 141 participants and Virginia edged out Texas for second place 109-104.
We need your input! Please take a moment to complete the Conference Evaluation. This is your best opportunity to provide input to the Conference Team so we can continue to provide the optimal learning and networking environment. The Evaluation is available online and will remain online for two months to ensure every participant has an opportunity to provide input. We do urge you to act quickly as planning for 2011-Louisville is well under way.
We have posted the plenary and concurrent session presentations from OKC. We are in the process of editing conference videos to add to our website as well - they will be online in the coming weeks.

ASFPM 2011 - Louisville, KY
The Kentucky Association of Mitigation Managers and their partners in the Ohio Floodplain Management Association are off to the races! KAMM and OFMA will be our hosts when we convene May 15-20 at the Galt House in Louisville to discuss issues relevant to our theme: Flood Risk Management: The Winning Ticket. The Conference website will be up later this summer. Please be sure to visit the site often as we will be continually adding updates. When the site goes live, you'll find links to make your hotel reservations online as well as tools to help familiarize yourself with Louisville and the surrounding area. We will post the Call for Presenters in early September. Remember: the deadline for the Call for Abstracts is always October 31, regardless of the conference dates!
THANK YOU SPONSORS!
