The Association of State Floodplain Managers will convene the world's largest and most comprehensive floodplain management conference - our 33rd annual gathering - the week of June 7-12, 2009, in Orlando, FL. We invite you to share your experiences with local, state, and federal officials, industry leaders, consultants, and other interested parties by attending sessions relevant to our theme, "Green Works to Reduce Flood Losses".

Throughout the week, nearly 1,200 of the industry's experts will conduct plenary and concurrent sessions and share state-of-the-art in techniques, programs, and resources to accomplish flood mitigation, watershed management, and other community goals. A three-day comprehensive exposition features the materials, equipment, accessories, and services vital to get the job done. Supplementary technical field tours and training workshops provide in-depth training and numerous networking activities offer additional opportunities to learn from each other.

Local Host: Florida Floodplain Managers Association

Government room block rate will be at prevailing per diem for June 2009. Currently, the rate is $109 single/double, but may increase over the next year. While you should not delay in making your reservation, please note that booking early will not lock in a lower per diem rate than that listed for June 2009. Please refer to the GSA Domestic Per Diem Tables for rate information.

Note: The conference hotel has a strict policy with regard to what constitutes employment by a government agency, and has tasked ASFPM to verify reservations confirmed at the Government Rate Block. ASFPM has agreed to cross-check all such reservations with the Association’s database. If it cannot be verified that the registrant is directly employed by a government agency, Group Block rates will be assessed.

When making your reservation, please refer to ASFPM Floodplain Managers Conference. By using our group rate, you help the Association meet our obligation to the hotel and keep registration rates low.

Sponsorship Information

**Please note that, due to production deadlines, all sponsorships received after May 8, 2009, may be subject to black-out on certain sponsor benefits. Please contact Chad Ross with any questions.**

Sponsorship commitments are now being accepted!

ASFPM is pleased to announce a new format for our National Conference Sponsorships starting with Orlando 2009! For the last several years, ASFPM has offered four sponsorship categories, each with corresponding benefits. Rather than assuming these benefits are a good fit for your company, we are now implementing a point system in which each sponsorship level is allocated points so you decide not only what you get, but how much you spend. Each sponsoring company may now select those benefits that best fit their particular outreach strategies. Our primary goal with this new system is to provide our sponsors with equity, value, flexibility, and self-control. We hope you will enjoy and appreciate this new approach.
